About

Dr. Reed Parkinson is originally from Provo, Utah. He served a 2 year mission in New Jersey where he learned Spanish (something he uses almost daily in his practice). He went to Medical School at St. George’s University, and completed his residency in Denver Colorado. Dr. Parkinson is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Parkinson continues to work part time as a hospitalist for IHC and volunteers at the Volunteer Care Clinic (a free clinic in Provo Utah run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints).

Dr. Parkinson’s areas of interest in Internal Medicine are Diabetes, Heart Failure, Hypertension, Skin Conditions, Depression/Anxiety, ADHD, and Autism. Dr. Parkinson understands that medicine in general can be very intimidating, so he tries to make all aspects of it as comfortable as possible.

Canessa Craigo Leeflang, MSN, FNP-C is a Utah native who often jokes that she “bleeds purple,” having graduated from both the University of Utah with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Brigham Young University with her Master of Science in Nursing.

With over 20 years of experience as a registered nurse (RN) and more than 15 years as a nationally certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Canessa worked at a small, local pediatric and family practice office before joining Dr. Reed Parkinson and his team.  Canessa brings pediatric, adolescent and women’s health clinical knowledge, along with compassionate patient care.

Canessa provides healthcare tailored to each patient’s unique needs. In alignment with Dr. Parkinson’s approach, she strives to ensure every patient feels seen, heard, and understood.

Outside of work, Canessa enjoys spending time with her husband and children, staying involved in the PTA, and tending to her beloved perennial hosta garden. She is grateful for the balance that allows her to work part-time while fully enjoying her family and community.
